In 2002, first Kono's Northshore was opened in Haleiwa. For over 15 years, Kono's has been serving hearty sandwiches and wraps. The most popular dish is the Kalua Pork. Kalua is a Hawaiian style method of cooking pig or turkey in an underground oven called imu. Kono's Northshore uses Kalua Pork that is roasted for 12 hours. Since its inception in Haleiwa town, Kono's Northshore expanded to two other locations including one in Honolulu and Kailua.
Kono's has a reputation for being the best place to dine for lunch and breakfast under $29.The restaurant also have wide selection of handcrafted milkshakes and smoothies to complement the sandwiches and wraps. Fresh squeezed lemonade or limeade are also available if you want something refreshing. Bagels and coffee are available if you want something light.
